In August 2026 Enterprise Singapore launched SS 726:2026, described as the world's first standard for liquid cooling in data centres in tropical climates. It covers how liquid-cooled systems are commissioned, the fluids they use and how they are maintained.
For operators and contractors in the region, the significance is less any single clause than the direction. Commissioning, fluid condition and maintenance are moving from project-by-project practice into written requirements that someone has to demonstrate at handover.
What it means in practice
- Specifications that state acceptance criteria for cleanliness and fluid condition
- Records that show the condition of the loop at handover, not only that it was flushed
- Fluid management treated as a maintenance obligation for the life of the loop
Australian specifications are heading the same way. Contractors who already work to a measured handover will find little changes. Those who do not will find the flush becomes a commercial risk.
